In Math today, we did mental math and I got 90%. The rest of the class was just a work period because our tests were still getting marked. In acc math I finished a long exercise and got a test for it. Also I printed the rest of the objectives that are assigned. I will probably do the test on Thursday on trig because I am really good at it.

Today in math we did a lot of things. First we started with mental math. After that we started to learn about the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines. The Law of Sines I think is way easy then the Law of Cosines. The Law of Cosines was really confusing at first but then it got better later on. I can finish my acc math now because I know how to do the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines.

An 8cm square piece of cardboardis made into an open-topped box by cutting Xcm from each corner.
A) What is the volume of the box?
B) What is the max value of x?
A) V=L x W x H
V=(8-2x)(8-2x)(x)
V=64-16x-16x+4x squared(x)
V=64x-16x squared- 16x squared+4x cubed
V=4x cubed-32x squared-64x
B) The max value of x has to be three. The reason why four wouldn't work is because the side is 8cm. If you had taken away 4cm off both of the corners, there would be nothing left for a open topped box.
